Determined to find his family and make those responsible pay, he begins a perilous journey full of danger — but will it all be in vein? This is the first time that I have read this author and this is a bit of a departure from what I usually read. However, this was a page turner! It grabbed me and wouldn't let go.

The story is well written and fast paced and left me with much to think about. To me, a sign of a good story. The lengths this father went to find his family against all odds. The reason behind the taking of his family. The help that he receives from unexpected places. The resolution. I found this an amazing, if a bit d This is the first time that I have read this author and this is a bit of a departure from what I usually read. I found this an amazing, if a bit disturbing at times, story. Well done! The video footage shows him crossing the border alone. But he knows he didn't and now he has to figure out who has his wife and two boys and why.

The police won't help him. Thank goodness for his good friend Crow. A good, quick, end of summer thriller! Fast paced, keeps you guessing about certain things. You think you know the why and then it turns out to be something different! Solidly good and entertaining read. Just the kind of book to read for a change of pace, it was a nice quick read and kept my interest from chapter one. Jun 17, Ramona rated it really liked it.

Didn't see this coming I had no idea how fast paced this was going to be. Full of thrills and chills Most of the time, you just know, he's not getting out of this alive. View 1 comment. Aug 10, Connie N. I had no idea what to expect from this book, but I ended up liking it very much. It all starts with a middle-aged bus driver who is visiting the U. When they go missing, he starts a journey to search for them. The reader can relate to him because he's just a regular guy making mistakes and not knowing what he's doing.

He stumbles around, getting angry and running on adrenaline, then letting fear and confusion take over, just like anyone else would do who is so out of their depth. The story is suspenseful all the way up to the end when we discover the reason for the missing family.

I felt the short epilogue was unnecessary and took away a little from the story--it would have been just as impactful and maybe moreso if it had ended just before that. But otherwise, the story was exciting, the psychology was interesting, and the characters were believable. I will read more from this author. This grabbed my attention from the first page!

A family travels on a weekend excursion with plans to meet at a mall Another great book from Grant Mc Kenzie. Was hooked from the start. Grant is one of those rare writers that grabs ur attention and never let's go. Great characters, likeable, believable and well written. Can't wait for the next one, well done Mr McKenzie :. This book galloped along at breakneck speed, the tension never slowing as Wallace, a normal bus driver and family man sought to get his wife and sons back from a crazed killer with a tenuous motive.

Great characters, plot and tension. Great page turner. Keep em coming Grant! Yet another excellent read from Mr Mckenzie! Like the first, a true page-turner that kept me guessing till the end! Thoroughly enjoyable read!

Excellent work! Fantastic thriller by an up and coming author.

Book review: The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Newborns

Written in a style that keeps the pages turning and the heart thumping until the final climax. Read it and enjoy! Great read Another great, action-packed thriller from Grant McKenzie. Warning - be prepared to read through this book in one sitting. Yes, it's that good. Gripping read. Jul 05, Philip rated it liked it. Grant and enjoyed them quite a bit so I thought I'd try one his more serious novels and I am glad I did. From the blurbs and synopsis and some reviews I had the impression that this story was similar to Linwood Barclay's "Never Look Away" or Rick Mofina's "Whirlwind" but that really is not the case.

This story has a plot that is so far over the top and requires a complete suspension of all disbelief that it actually almost becomes bel I have read Mr McKenzie's Dixie Flynn series written as M. This story has a plot that is so far over the top and requires a complete suspension of all disbelief that it actually almost becomes believable. If you like lots of violence, lots of action, lots of guns, lots of blood, a psychopathic perp, a motive build on mistaken identity and the perp not having read the full newspaper report of an accident, a great use of Photoshop and some spectacular chases you'll really like this book.

Wallace and Crow remind me very much of early Spenser and Hawk. This sure isn't great literature but it sure is great escapism. I deducted one star because while most of the bad guys met solid and satisfying ends I am not quite sure of what happened to the main perp. However all the good guys here had happy endings. I have no idea why but while I was reading this book I kept thinking about some of Thomas Perry's early Jane Whitefield books.

I'll read more of Mr. McKenzies Work for sure. Mar 23, Bill rated it it was amazing. Canadian bus drive is on vacation to US with his family when he runs into a nightmare. Sometime what we think is true is not true at all!

Hate and spite can lead to trouble! Rocking and feeding to sleep, without the need for crying, allow you to help your baby with self-soothing and sleeping alone. She generally aims at consistent and long term results rather than a quick fix. That is one of the approaches in child education I personally value most. Many parents enjoy reading these books as they support them in their personal ways of how they instinctively approach their children. The no cry sleep book gives them a workbook to hang on to and to refer to. You can start with the no cry sleep solution from newborn sleeping onwards.

Different tips will apply at different times and you can refer to them from time to time as your baby grows and may have different sleeping issues. More flexible than die-hard attachment parenting, parents of any conviction may find useful ideas in Elizabeth's books. You have to set to work though and be prepared to follow the approach diligently. What I like personally in Elizabeth's books is the way she explains things: the basics of good sleep are presented through options and systems with clarity and in a pleasant way. The logs help you get actively involved, both in understanding your baby's sleep and in why and how to work to improve things.

I recommend that you read the book really well before getting started so you know what to expect.
