If it's allowed in French, then maybe it's allowed in Italian too? All I know is it's incorrect in English. Exactly my thought. I have sent this comment to Duo: "This is punctuated incorrectly in English. It would either be two sentences or separated by a semicolon, NOT a comma.

Is " that " preferable? Duo suggests that. In my opinion as a native speaker of English, that seems more natural. In fact, I wanted to write that even though it was not present in the Italian. This is one for which I am unable to provide a link or reason why. It might be an unreasoned preference. It might have something to do with relative pronouns.

It might be very phrase specific. Or something else entirely. If you reverse the order of the clauses, then "this" becomes the better "translation": "Is this normal: I never dream. Yes "that" is preferable in my opinion, as it is a reference to the preceding statement. On the other hand, I do not like the punctuation at all, but that is a different argument [native English speaker].

Reported as follows, It needs a semi-colon or a dash, or it is two sentences. You should not promulgate faulty English.
